This book will touch the heart and enlighten ANY caregiver: parent, spouse, grandparents, friends, adults responsible for elderly parents.

The learning curve for a new parent of a medically fragile child is incomprehensible and indescribable. My sole reason for writing this book was to share the knowledge I had gained in the first few years parenting my son Evan, born with Apert Syndrome (a rare craniofacial syndrome that affected every system in his body).

Evan’s charm, loving nature,  zeal for life and making friends, ability to overcome every challenge given to him, earned his title “Ambassador of Joy”.  Everyone who met him was inspired to do their best and embrace life more.

The night our book won 3 Midwest Book Review Awards brought 3 phones calls from my editor who was able to attend the awards.  Each call more excited than the last, amazed wonder that Uncommon Beauty topped another category.  And Evan loved every minute, jumping up and down, cheering for both of us.

The amazing wonder of Evan was my inspiration to write this book with 100 essays, both journal of real life experiences and guidebook of practical advice.
